w w w.in s i g h t o n m f g . c o m Januar y 2020 • /INSIGHT ON MANUFACTURING | 27 PLANT|NEWS OSHKOSH DEFENSE RECEIVES $803.9 MILLION JLTV CONTRACT Oshkosh Defense announced that the U.S. Army Contracting Command – Warren has placed an $803.9 million order for 2,721 Joint Light Tactical Vehicles. Additional orders from the U.S. Army Contracting Command are anticipated within this fiscal year. This order includes JLTVs for the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy. It also includes vehicles for the country of Montenegro via Foreign Military Sale. The distribution of JLTVs ensures that multiple branches of the U.S. military have the light tactical vehicle they need to perform missions that support the national defense strategy. "As the threats on today's modern battlefield continue to evolve, our Warfighters need a highly capable light tactical vehicle that is uniquely suited for mission adaptability," said George Mansfield, vice president and general manager of joint programs for Oshkosh Defense. GREEN BAY PACKAGING ACHIEVES SUSTAINABILIT Y MILESTONE Green Bay Packaging has outlined its plans to become a leader in sustainability. In December, the paper mill announced it had turned off its coal-fired boilers and is now running exclusively on natural gas, a move that reduces the company's emissions by 90 percent. The paper company broke ground in August 2018 on a new $500 million facility that is the largest economic development project in Green Bay and Brown County history. "We're excited to talk about what will be the most environmentally friendly mill in the United States," Green Bay Packaging Executive Vice President Bryan Hollenbach said at the press conference announcing the project's latest developments. With the new facility, the company committed to hiring 200 employees statewide, and it's already exceeded that, Hollenbach said.
