But it's given me the opportunity to meet and work with some amazing people, many of whom I now call friends. One of the things I enjoy the most is getting to know someone and to see how I may be able to help them. In 1995, Brian Rasmussen and I started working together and a friendship soon began. To say that Brian has been a role model to me is an understatement. His contagious enthusiasm, devotion to family and friends and his unwavering Christian faith have provided a constant source of stability for me. And we've certainly had our share of fun along the way! From hayrides, to limo rides … it's been a great ride. I met Insight co-founder Margaret LeBrun in 2000 when we both worked for the same company. We've shared many laughs (and wine!) over the years. I'll never forget our "Seinfeld" moments and cherish my friendship with both her and her husband Dave. I remember being so jealous when she announced her retirement, but now we both get to sleep in! To see how Insight has grown over the past 11-plus years is nothing short of astonishing. I treasure each and every one of you that I've had the honor of working with and will take so many memories with me. I thank you for your business, your trust in me and for your dedication to Insight. ank you for the opportunity to get to know you and for putting up with me. As emotional as it is for me to say "goodbye," I also know that it's really more "see you later." Please continue to support and upli one another. To collaborate and celebrate. To innovate and create. But mostly, be kind and remember that we are not in this alone. As a believer, I know that I'm not in control and that giving it up to God has taken me so very far in my journey. ank you so much for being part of it! It has been my absolute privilege to work with you all. Now … off into the sunset. Literally! Account executive Wendy Gilbert retired from Insight in December. She is now heading off to warmer climates. It's not a goodbye, but rather 'see you later' Oshkosh Business Expo set for Jan. 30 e Oshkosh Business Expo is marking the new decade with a Roaring '20s theme. e annual event provides a venue for anyone wanting to make connections or learn more about Fox Valley area businesses. "It's really (about) building those relationships and making those contacts because people do business with people they know," says Karlie Schultz, member relations coordinator for the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce. More than 100 businesses set up themed booths at the event, providing an opportunity for networking and learning about businesses' products and services. e expo, which is held at the Oshkosh Convention Center, includes a Made Locally section that highlights products produced in the greater Oshkosh region. Companies also can sell their products and services and share job opportunities. Exhibitors are invited to decorate their booths, create activities that match the event's theme and provide demonstrations. Many booths also include giveaways. Schultz says seeing the creativity — some companies go all out — is a draw for the hundreds of visitors who attend each year. Companies have the chance to win first-, second- and third-place recognition for the best booth themes. Leading up to the event, exhibitors also can submit a promotional video to the chamber, which will share it on social media. New this year, the chamber is partnering with Appleton International Airport for a travel giveaway. Attendees can pick up a passport and gather the requisite number of stamps for a chance to win the grand prize of a travel experience through the airport. e day culminates in Business Aer Hours, which includes A Taste of Oshkosh. Attendees can sample food and beverages from area restaurants, caterers and breweries, including Fox River Brewing Co., Greene's Pour House and La Sure's.
