– 4 – WELCOME TO 2019 MANUFACTURING FIRST GET READY FOR A DYNAMIC, IMPACTFUL DAY AT THE 9TH ANNUAL MANUFACTURING FIRST EXPO & CONFERENCE! With over 200 exhibitor booths and 1,000 plus attendees, this year's Manufacturing First event will not disappoint! On behalf of event originator and presenting sponsor First Business Bank, in partnership with the NEW Manufacturing Alliance and Insight Publications, we're proud to host this event in Northeast Wisconsin during Manufacturing Month. Bringing people together with a passion for manufacturing is natural for us here, as one out of four residents in this region are employed in the industry. It's the backbone of our economy and we're proud to be a part of strengthening it though events like Manufacturing First. Today will kick off bright and early at 7 a.m. with breakfast, registration and networking. This year, we are fortunate to have two keynote speakers. David Kohler, president and CEO of the Kohler Co., will talk about his company's history of innovation and why it's necessary for manufacturers to succeed. Next, Mike Staver, author of "Leadership Isn't for Cowards," will take the stage and share useful, entertaining leadership advice. Immediately following the keynote presentation, we will feature two special presentations. First Business Bank will host "How and Why Alternative Financing Works for Manufacturers." In this session, Bill Elliott, president of First Growth Business, will share how all businesses — even in good times — can benefit from the different alternative financing options. Ruder Ware is also hosting a special presentation at the same time as attorney Sara Ackermann will share "Employment Law is Not for Cowards: A Top 10 List of What Not to Do in the Workplace." The expo show floor will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. — make sure to check out the interactive XCELLD Booth Exhibitors — Doig, Kohler Co., Oshkosh Corp. and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. From 2 to 3 p.m., it's time for our Power Hour. There will be music and registrations for special giveaways during this hour ONLY, so make sure not to miss out on the party that closes out the show floor! At 3:15 p.m., Bryan Brandt, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for the Oshkosh Corp., will discuss how a company's brand and culture work together to support business goals. From 3:30 to 5 p.m., the Power Hour winners will be announced and a cocktail networking reception will be held Manufacturing First is designed for Wisconsin manufacturers to showcase industry advances, highlight successes, announce the latest developments, and provide premier networking opportunities.
