I
t's rare these days to meet a CEO who's been
with a company for his or her entire career. It's
even more rare to meet one who started out
at the business as an apprentice, but that's the story
of Mike Jansen, the leader of Menasha-based Faith
Technologies Inc. e Little Chute native started
with the company as an electrical apprentice and
moved up in the ranks. At the same time, the
business that began as a local electrical contractor
spread its wings and grew into a national company
recognized not only for its electrical work, but also
its systems management and solutions.
Faith's transformation is fascinating and one
that's on display in the Fox Cities as the company
builds a new headquarters for its Excellerate
manufacturing division in Little Chute, which
will include renewable resources visible to drivers
on Interstate 41, along with its microgrid at the
Gordon Bubolz Nature Preserve in Appleton. Read
more about Faith's evolution in my cover story
starting on page 22.
e University of Wisconsin System is another
organization undergoing a transformation.
Last July, the system merged its two- and four-
year campuses. In this month's Insight Insider,
leaders from UW-Oshkosh and UW-Green Bay
discuss the merger and the way forward that best
serves students, individual campuses and area
communities. at story begins on page 30.
Nearly every industry struggles to find enough
workers, and health care is no different. Health
care, however, faces a double-edged sword since
as the population ages, more employees are
needed to provide the necessary care, and at the
same time, health care workers also are retiring.
Learn more about the solutions health care
systems are embracing to fill their open positions
in Jessica iel's article starting on page 35.
