Under new ownership as of the end of 2017, new owners Kelly and Edoardo La Torre have continued to deliver customer favorites while also incorporating new offerings. e eatery's unfussy atmosphere, decorated with touches of European flair and colorful chairs, allows diners to enjoy a quick lunch or linger for a longer chat. For years, Bridget O'Connor, principal and owner of downtown De Pere's O'Connor Connective, says her team has frequented the café for "chicken salad over greens with a side of contract negotiations." Indeed, Alpha Delights' "Best Chicken Salad Sandwich Around," studded with all- white chicken meat, pine nuts, Craisins and scallions, is arguably its best-loved offering. It's available served on a croissant with homemade pita chips and fruit garnish for $8.95 or served on a bed of greens without chips for $8.50. e restaurant delivers a rotating menu of special entrées, soups, salads and sandwiches in addition to its regular menu, which features favorites such as the gyros plate ($9.50). It's also ventured into offering a selection of grab- and-go salads and sandwiches. "It's the type of environment where you can't help but be in a great frame of mind as you gaze at the case of exquisite baked goods and take in the smell of the special of the day," O'Connor says. "Add to it the fact that it's always been owned by one of our more than 70 women business owners in De Pere, and I'd say you have a pretty darn good place for a power lunch (or breakfast!)." — Jessica iel
